I really like PowWeb. Despite their claim to be running on something approximating a grid server, they aren’t as good as true grid hosts, coming much closer to middle-of-the-road shared hosts, but for the money they really can’t be beat. If you are looking for a solid, shared host provider at the best possible cost, look no further than PowWeb.
If you follow the link above, you can get hosting at $3.88 per month, but there’s a catch. In order to get that price, you have to be willing to pay for two years of web service. Still, to get two whole years of hosting at $93.24 is just amazing, and they have a 30 day money-back guarantee. If you don’t want to pay that far in advance, go back and check my reviews for the best shared hosting companies. Don’t select PowWeb if you aren’t going to do the two-year option.
Keep in mind, you may be able to find cheaper web hosts if you hunt hard enough, but do you really want to deal with them once you’ve got them? In my experience, no. In fact, if you don’t really care about a dollar or two here or there, I would suggest that you go back to the Best Shared Hosts pageand pick someone from there. The very best shared hosts are all reasonably priced. Still, though, PowWeb isn’t a bad choice.
Of course, if cheap were all that PowWeb had to offer, I wouldn’t recommend them. I’ve found their customer service to be spectacular. They have 24 hour support via live chat, which is my favorite kind, but they also have a toll free number you can call. I’ve actually worked with them a couple of times and found them to be incredibly helpful.
PowWeb is also easy to use. They have a ton of applications that you can install with a click, and if you have problems? Just get with their customer support, and they’ll actually do it for you. You can’t beat that.
