Concerning 1and1’s offer of a year’s free web hosting. If you were given a free ticket to walk into the La Brea Tar Pits would you take it?
In my opinion, hooking up with 1and1 is like the La Brea Tar Pits, easy to get into but very difficult to get out. It is not without reason that the Pennsylvania Better Business has given 1and1 Internet their lowest rating “F.”
I haven’t tried them yet, so I don’t have a review for them. As I’ve been doing research, I’m not sure that I will. You aren’t the first person who has told me they are terrible.
The biggest complaints I’ve seen involve canceling accounts.
